Programme: Recovery and Resilience Plan

The play "Rapture And Rage" analyzes contemporary political trends, questioning the growing appeal of authoritarian and fundamentalist ideologies. The show provokes reflection on the reasons why authoritarian rule is perceived as a potential solution in times of crisis and explores the psychology of supporters of far-right extremist movements in Europe.
The audience sits in a square, observes each other, and is invited to reflect on theater, authoritarian rule, and their own possibilities for action. Everyone listens to an individual recording through headphones, which is synchronized with everyone else.
Based on a non-linear historical perspective, the production traces the rise of fascism, the aestheticization of politics and the subjective dimensions of political power. Updating these themes, the show analyzes contemporary political trends and explores the reasons for the growing attractiveness of authoritarian regimes. Through an innovative stage concept resembling a radio ballet, the production turns the audience into an active participant in the spectacle. The individual reactions of the audience become part of a collective process that reflects the dynamics of mass movements and provokes reflections on the relationship between theatrical space and real social life.
In order to popularize the play among the Bulgarian audience, it will be fully translated and adapted again for the Bulgarian audience. The performance will be presented in three regional centers - Shumen, Pleven and Blagoevgrad. The choice of these cities is dictated by the desire to reach audiences that have more limited access to contemporary e-European cultural events. In each of the three cities, two performances are planned within two consecutive days.
