"SORTOVI SMENE ELIT 2001" EOOD is an agricultural producer with an organically certified walnut orchard with an area of ​​about 700 decares in the land of the town of Svishtov. Organic farming is a specific method of agricultural production that maintains the ecological balance and whose products are produced in compliance with maximum balance in the soil-plant system and the natural cycles of development. It contributes to the sustainable development of rural areas, to the protection of the environment and guarantees good living conditions for nature. In order to increase the economic efficiency and obtain production with high added value, the company invested in the construction of a workshop for the processing of walnuts and the production of walnut kernels in PI 65766.303.232 under the CC and KR of the town of Svishtov. The workshop is designed for the processing of the organically certified walnuts produced in the company's garden and the production of organically certified walnuts. The walnut processing activity includes: receiving the walnuts in a receiving shaft, washing the walnuts together with the shells with water on a production line, drying the washed walnuts through specialized sectional dryers. The calibration and sorting of the already dried walnuts, through a calibration installation and subsequent crushing of the walnuts and separation of the walnut kernels. The water from the washing of the walnuts is led from a collection grid into a tank located outside the workshop, where the water settles. In order to improve the indicators of this water, the current investment in a water purification system is foreseen, which will guarantee its quality for the subsequent use for irrigation. Using the water for irrigation will contribute to saving water. In this way, the optimization of the operating costs will be achieved in combination with the protection of the components of the environment.
