As a dentist, I started working in Svilengrad city, initially in a rented office, and since September 2019 I bought a room and moved my practice to a new office. I am in a contractual relationship and I work with the Health Insurance Fund. I am a member of BSA Regional College of Haskovo. Unlike our colleagues practicing in big cities, we dentists practicing in small cities cannot boast with a large number of solvent clients. On the contrary, most of our patients are low-income or retired. This circumstance necessitates maintaining lower prices for paid services, which leads to lower income for specialists and significantly less profit for our activity. This prevents me from investing in new and advanced technology and equipment that contribute to more accurate diagnosis and treatment. Many patients do not have access to contemporary health care, guaranteeing a well-diagnosed and long-lasting effect. In their quest for modern dental care, more solvent patients seek the services of specialist practices in major cities, which cost them a great deal of time and additional transportation costs. Thus, patients, income and development opportunities are lost. A closed loop is obtained, which is difficult to exit. Svilengrad is a small town, away from the district and other major centers of the country and there are about 20 dentists, whose offices are located in the central city, close to each other and the competition is fierce.
