The current agricultural activity of the applicant includes the cultivation of stone fruit species - plums with a total utilized agricultural area of ​​21.770 decares. Plantations are bred in a biological way. The activity of the holding is carried out on the lands of the village of Balanite and Gabrovo, Gabrovo municipality, Gabrovo district. Land falls within the scope of mountain areas identified as disadvantaged. The candidate is managing three properties in the village of Balanite and seven in the town of Gabrovo. The farmer does not have his own agricultural machinery. If necessary, agricultural machinery is rented or external mechanized services are used. There are no irrigation facilities, buildings or other facilities on the property. Plant protection chemicals and fertilizers are not used or stored on the holding. The requirements for keeping fertilizer logs and plant protection measures for all properties are not met. The applicant himself organizes and manages his activity. No production staff is assigned. Currently he does not keep accounting. The activities necessary for restructuring and adaptation of the farm are related to the maintenance of the existing permanent plum plantations and the lease of 6 decares of stone fruits - plums in 2020. The applicant's plans are for the orchards to be hired in November 2020 and to engage in organic farming. To improve the mechanization of the farm, a grooming plant will be purchased in 2019. This will take place nine months after signing the Sub-Measure Approval Agreement, observing the requirements. By the end of 2020, the applicant will complete a course of 150 hours and a course on conservation of environmental components in the agricultural sector. By the end of 2020, the farmer will have complied with all EU standards related to his activities, including standards on safe working conditions and phytosanitary standards.
