Petar Kochev is a candidate for assistance under sub-measure 6.1 "Start-up assistance for young farmers", develops agricultural activity on the territory of Tsarevets village, Svishtov municipality, Veliko Tarnovo region. The applicant's farm is mixed - he raises animals, manages pastures and grows walnuts. The permanent walnut plantations are used on the basis of a lease agreement, they have a total area of 4,396 decares. The pastures, which are located on the land of Hadjidimitrovo village, Svishtov municipality, are rented by the Svishtov municipality. The total area of managed pastures is 749.27 decares. The farmer does not have his own equipment and will use external mechanized services to maintain the pastures. Petar Kochev also breeds large ruminant animals - cattle-meat sector. The main goal is growing the offspring, fattening them, and selling them for meat. In order to adapt the farm and achieve sustainability, the business plan for the development of the farm envisages certain activities. In the process of the implementation of the set program and at the time of inspection, the agricultural holding will achieve a growth of not less than 4000 euros SPO. The growth of the farm will be achieved through an increase in the number of farmed animals, which will be done mainly through own breeding activity, and if necessary, through purchase. The farmer intends to continue farming and leasing pastures. This is also the reason why the farmer bought an electric herder, which will be an innovation for his farm and an investment in DMA. Petar Kochev will continue to take care of the walnut orchard. The farmer will maintain his farm in accordance with the applicable European Union standards relating to the supported activities.
