Description

The territory of LAG-Maglizh, Nikolaevo, Gurkovo includes a total of 30 settlements located within the three constituent municipalities — Maglizh, Nikolaevo, and Gurkovo. According to data from the National Statistical Institute, as of 31.12.2020, the total population of the settlements covered by the Local Action Group (LAG) Maglizh, Nikolaevo, Gurkovo amounts to 19,595 people. The territory of LAG-Maglizh, Nikolaevo, Gurkovo (hereinafter referred to as LAG for the purposes of this document) is situated within the South-Central Planning Region (NUTS 2). The three municipalities covered by the LAG fall under the administrative boundaries of Stara Zagora District.

The CLLD strategy (SVOMR) has been developed based on the specific local needs and potential identified through an extensive stakeholder survey and socio-economic analysis. A total of 195 representatives of the local community participated in the development and coordination of the strategy. The needs, opinions, and expectations of the stakeholders were studied within the framework of the survey and consultation process, forming the main foundation for the strategic framework and the definition of SVOMR measures. The increased interest in the different measures is reflected both in the strategic framework and in the SVOMR budget.

The SVOMR for the 2023–2027 programming period will be financed under the CAP Strategic Plan (EAFRD). In view of the identified local needs and potential of the territory, the need for complementary funding from the Environment Programme 2021–2027 has also been established.
