The presented CLLD strategy has been developed in cooperation between the various local actors, who have joined their efforts to improve the quality of life in the territory, activate entrepreneurship in various activities and forms of employment, while sustainably using their resources and development potential. It has been decided to support the strategy from only one fund - the EAFRD, with the needs for complementary funding (clearly defined in a special analysis) being directly attributed to the relevant programs, in order to maintain the focus on the objectives thus formulated. The strategy is diverse, reflecting the will of the local community to support public projects for the benefit of the "rural" environment, economic growth and more competitive local business for all forms of economic activity for business, and cooperation is the emphasis in the strategic objectives, for which there are high expectations both for initiatives in all areas with established high potential, and for innovations in the face of "smart" villages. Despite the statistical data on the development of the Southwestern Planning Region, the territory of the Bobov Dol-Dupnitsa-Sapareva Banya LAG has identified huge deficits in terms of both public infrastructure and services, as well as the business environment, as a result of a number of negative trends, the largest of which is the depopulation of the territory and the aging population. The CLLD Strategy is seen as an opportunity for the local community to revitalize the territory, to support cooperation of stakeholders in various fields, as well as to implement experimental and innovative projects for the region for pilot development of a specific part of the territory, by engaging the community itself in voluntary initiatives. The goal of the Strategy is to achieve a tangible and significant effect on the local community with small steps. The Strategy implementation team is motivated to use all tools to popularize the CLLD approach.
