The present project proposal is aimed at the permanent cessation of the fishing activities of the fishing vessel with external marking CR 688 “MAXIM,” owned by the applicant. The activity will be carried out through the dismantling and scrapping of the fishing vessel, including the removal and destruction of the vessel’s fishing gear and equipment, in accordance with the requirements of the Implementation Conditions under procedure BG14MFPR001-1.005 “Permanent cessation of fishing activities” of the Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Programme 2021–2027 and the applicable legislation.

The fishing vessel is over 10 years old and has been registered as an active fishing vessel with all relevant permits and annual certificates for more than 7 years. During the last two calendar years, it has operated at sea for more than 90 days per year—95 fishing days in 2024 and 100 fishing days in 2023. The vessel is eligible for financial support, as it belongs to an imbalanced fleet segment. These circumstances are evidenced by an official certificate issued by the EAFA, which is enclosed with the project proposal.
The implementation of the project will contribute to the adaptation of the national fleet’s fishing capacity to the available fish resources, to the achievement of balance between capacity and fishing opportunities, and to the preservation of biological diversity in the Black Sea. At the same time, the project is fully consistent with the objectives of the European Green Deal through the reduction of carbon emissions generated by fishing activities.
The amount of the compensation is calculated in accordance with the Methodology for calculating the compensations under the operation ‘Permanent cessation of fishing activities’. At the stage of final payment the calculated compensation will be reduced by the amount received from the sale of the vessel for scrap and/or from the sale of the fishing equipment, based on the submitted invoices.
