Description

The project of “RIO-2012” Ltd. aims to modernize the energy infrastructure of the warehouse located at 64 “Treti mart” Blvd., Ruse (250 sq.m, of which ~20 sq.m office). The need arises from high energy costs, outdated lighting, “cold” aluminum joinery, and suboptimal use of the existing RES (PV ~17.98 kWp; 20 kW inverter; batteries 6×5.1 kWh), which limits energy independence and indoor comfort.

Target groups: employees (improved working conditions), the company and its clients (lower operating costs and more reliable deliveries), the local community and the environment (reduced emissions).

Overall objective: to increase energy efficiency and the share of energy from RES. Specific objectives: (1) reduce final energy consumption by replacing lighting and joinery; (2) increase own green electricity generation by expanding the PV system and storage capacity; (3) ensure a stable indoor microclimate via a high-efficiency air-to-air heat pump.

Main activities: replacement of 15 linear and 6 panel luminaires with LEDs; replacement of windows/doors with aluminum frames featuring a thermal break; expansion of the PV system with new panels and inverters; addition of batteries (and required inverters) to increase capacity and enable load shifting; deployment of a heat pump system for heating and cooling.

Expected results: reduced grid consumption and energy intensity, higher share of own green energy and use during non-sunny hours, stable microclimate, and lower greenhouse gas emissions, improving the company’s competitiveness.

All measures comply with the priorities and requirements of procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004, including eligibility of activities and result indicators.
