The project of "Zaharo" Ltd. is aimed at increasing the energy efficiency and sustainability of production activities by introducing local facilities for storing electrical energy (batteries) in combination with inverters to an already built photovoltaic system for own consumption. The company operates in the field of processing industry and the production of fresh confectionery, offering a wide range of cakes, tarts, pastries, pies and small sweets. The company employs over 140 employees, and production is continuous and highly energy-intensive, due to constantly operating refrigeration, cooling, dosing and baking equipment. Although the company already has photovoltaic panels, the lack of batteries for storing the produced energy limits the efficiency of the system. A significant part of the solar energy generated during the day cannot be fully used. With the implementation of the project, batteries will be installed to store excess electricity produced during the day, as well as inverter systems for optimal charge and discharge management. The energy thus accumulated during the daylight hours will be used at night to power the refrigerators and freezers, ensuring energy independence and stability of the production process. The investment will allow "Zaharo" OOD to develop a more sustainable, low-carbon and energy-efficient production model, in full compliance with the objectives of procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004.
