Programme: Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Enhanced Inclusion of Vulnerable Groups

The project develops the need for a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to support local communities in the Danube-Black Sea system, which will allow mitigating the impacts of economic activities on river and sea basins. Based on a multidisciplinary approach with components from three priority areas of ISIS2021-2027. The CC is in line with the strategy for the North-Central, North-Eastern and South-Eastern planning regions. The project is structured in seven RPs and seven SMs. RP1 The whole is to capture, differentiate and analyze the dynamics of weak climate signals related to climate change on the physico-chemistry and ecological state of the Black Sea and the Danube River and assess the resulting changes. RP2 Develops and implements innovative, remote and non-invasive methods and technologies for studying the biodiversity of the Black Sea and changes along the trophic chain, including eDNA of marine organisms for sustainable use of natural resources. RP3 Innovative approaches for converting renewable marine energy, technological improvement and greening of maritime and river transport with optimization of energy systems in navigation infrastructure and energy management. RP4 Develops pilot digital simulation models for spatially sustainable planning and development of ecosystem-based economic activities for zero pollution and conservation and restoration of biodiversity. RP5 Develops models for reversible and prognostic management of the risk of point and diffuse pollution in the Bulgarian section of the Danube and Black Sea basins and the risk of flooding and erosion of vulnerable areas. RP6 Research in support of the planning of energy and digital transformation of the port and coastal environment to create an integrated approach to the sustainable development of coastal settlements. RP7 Develops a digital multifunctional platform with a data center and augmented reality, providing access to information and analytical resources in real time.
