The current project proposal provides for the construction of a marina within the meaning of Art. 111a, para. 3 of the Law on Maritime Spaces, Inland Waterways and Ports of the Republic of Bulgaria. The project proposal envisages the construction of a mooring for 34 boats - a reinforced concrete site with the function of temporary residence-storage (parking) of fishing boats in property 54020.502.1504 on the cadastral map of the town of Oryahovo. Until now, no such facility has been built. A retaining wall will also be built. The concrete site will have an area of ​​2735 m2. It will be surrounded by a light assembly fence with a height of 2.50 m, with metal or concrete stakes, with a total length of 255 m.l. A double door will be placed on the fence. It is planned to install 20 street solar lamps, as well as video surveillance. In order to improve the safety and working conditions of the fishermen, the supply and laying of rubber non-slip and shock-absorbing flooring is planned.
The choice of a marina solution is based on a combination of the following factors and protective features:
- Location near settlements where small-scale fishing is developed
-Availability of natural depth of the selected water area, which excludes additional dredging activities and a negative effect on the underwater and benthic flora and fauna.
-Prevention of the abrasion and collapse processes of the coastal slope in the marina area;
The implementation of the project will lead to the construction of small-scale infrastructure; improved working conditions for local fishermen and their safety in carrying out their activities will be ensured; created conditions for the development of non-industrial fishing in the region and preserved traditions in local fishing.
