Description

The project proposal aims to secure financial support for the organization of the 112th IUVSTA Workshop on Advances in Biomedical Plasma and Surface Engineering, an international scientific forum that is part of the event series of the International Union for Vacuum Science, Technique and Applications (IUVSTA). The workshop focuses on recent advances in plasma technologies and surface engineering with biomedical applications.
The event is organized by the Institute of Electronics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, in partnership with the Medical University – Pleven, the Technical University of Gabrovo, and the Union of Physicists in Bulgaria. It is supported by IUVSTA, which has provided partial funding for the participation of leading international scientists.
The workshop aims to present the latest scientific achievements, promote international scientific exchange, encourage the development of early-career researchers, and strengthen Bulgaria's scientific capacity. These objectives are aligned with the National Strategy for the Development of Scientific Research in the Republic of Bulgaria (2017–2030) and contribute to strengthening the country's research capacity and integration into the European Research Area. The workshop also addresses the priority area "Industry for Healthy Living, Bioeconomy and Biotechnology" of the Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialisation of the Republic of Bulgaria (2021–2027) through its focus on innovative materials for medical applications.
More than 50 researchers from different countries are expected to participate. The workshop will enhance the international visibility of the Bulgarian scientific community and foster collaboration in a key area of modern engineering science. Further information will be available at http://www.abpse.com.
