The International Conference "Sofia Electrochemical Days 2026" (SED’26) is organized by the Institute of Electrochemistry and Energy Systems at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, in partnership with UCTM – Sofia and the Joint Innovation Centre of BAS. The event will take place from September 8 to 12, 2026, at the Creativity House of BAS in Varna, with the support of the International Society of Electrochemistry. SED’26 marks the 10th anniversary edition of a scientific initiative established in 1996, recognized as an international forum for exchanging scientific results, expertise, and ideas in electrochemistry and related fields. The primary objective of SED’26 is to provide a platform for presenting and discussing achievements in batteries and supercapacitors, hydrogen technologies, electrocatalysis, corrosion, and functional materials, with emphasis on interdisciplinary research and the link between fundamental and applied electrochemistry. The program includes plenary and invited lectures, oral and poster sessions, and a session for PhD students and young researchers. The project includes awards for best scientific presentation and poster, evaluated by an international scientific jury. Over 60 scientists from 8 countries have registered, with an expected attendance of about 80 participants. The conference will contribute to strengthening international cooperation, knowledge exchange, and new scientific contacts in areas related to sustainable energy.
