Description

The effective functioning of disaster warning and communication systems requires fast, reliable and intuitive access to large volumes of heterogeneous information generated by research community, institutional practices and international projects. At present, there is significant fragmentation of data, different approaches to its description, and limited ability to discover, reuse and integrate knowledge.
In this context, it is necessary to develop methods for better structuring of information, introducing uniform metadata, semantic models for describing content, and mechanisms to improve access to information resources through open standards and digital tools.

Expected scientific results:
•	Methodology for structuring and managing knowledge in the field of disaster warning and communication;
•	Conceptual model for the organization of information resources;
•	Proposals for unified metadata and semantic models;
•	Guidelines for the implementation of the FAIR principles in the AlertHub platform;
•	Prototyping solutions to improve information search and access;
•	Scientific publications and reports on the subject of the COST Action;
•	Expanded international scientific network and sustainable partnerships.

Scientific impact:
•	Increasing the scientific capacity of Bulgarian researchers in the field of crisis communications and knowledge management;
•	Strengthening Bulgaria's participation in the European research area.

Sustainability of results:
The results of the project will be integrated into the activities of COST Action CA23126 and will contribute to the long-term development of the European open knowledge platform AlertHub, providing a better structured, easier to find, and more accessible information environment for the scientific community, institutions and all stakeholders.
