LAG Medkovets–Montana is a non-profit legal entity established by 34 founders, representatives of the public, business and non-profit sectors from the territory of the 23 villages of the Municipality of Montana and the 5 villages of the Municipality of Medkovets, as part of the activities of Project BG06RDNP001-19.610-0035 “Assistance for preparatory activities on the territory of the Municipality of Medkovets and the Municipality of Montana”. LAG Medkovets–Montana developed a Strategy for Community-Led Local Development, developed based on local needs and potential and corresponds to the policies at the national, regional and local levels as well as the possibilities of the territory. Its main and specific objectives and priorities are related to the long-term sustainable development of the region and improving the quality of life of people. The development and consultation of the CLLD Strategy on the territory of LAG Medkovets – Montana was carried out with full transparency and broad awareness of the local population. The CLLD Strategy of the LAG has been developed for the period until 31.12.2027 and includes the following measures, financed by the Strategic Plan for Rural Development 2023 - 2027(EAFRD)for a total amount of BGN 4,293,755: - Measure 1 "Investments in agricultural holdings and agricultural activities" - Measure 2 "Investments in non-agricultural activities" - Measure 3 "Investments in basic services and small-scale infrastructure and creation of smart settlements" - Measure 4 "Preservation of cultural and natural heritage on the territory of the Medkovets - Montana LAG and development of accompanying tourism activities" - Measure 5 "Cooperation activities and their preparation" - Measure for "Activities for management, monitoring and evaluation of the CLLD strategy and its promotion". Additional funding for the Strategy is also planned from the HRDP 2021-2027/1,036,400 BGN/, the EP 2021-2027/400,000 BGN/ and the EP 2021-2027/200,000 BGN/.
