The project proposal aims to implement the Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) Strategy within the territory of the Local Action Group (LAG) "Gulyantsi–Pleven." The territory covers the municipality of Gulyantsi (with a population of 9,969) and part of the municipality of Pleven, including the villages of Brushlyanitsa, Bukovlak, Varbitsa, Opanets, and Yasen – with a total population of 9,079. As of 31 December 2020, the total population in the territory is 19,048 residents. The CLLD Strategy of LAG "Gulyantsi–Pleven" was developed under a project financed by the Procedure for selection of project proposals under Sub-measure 19.1 "Support for preparatory activities" of Measure 19 "Community-Led Local Development" from the Rural Development Programme 2014–2020. The strategy foresees the implementation of operations, including cooperation activities and their preparation, within the 2023–2027 programming period. By applying the CLLD Strategy, the implementation of projects addressing local needs will be supported. These projects will contribute to creating and maintaining employment for the local population and will benefit small local businesses. The Strategy supports initiatives that foster improved economic, social, and environmental conditions in small settlements and promote multisectoral development of local economies. The measures selected in the Strategy fall within the scope of rural development and are eligible under Articles 73 and 77 of Regulation (EU) 2021/2115 and Regulation (EU) 2021/1060, excluding those involving fixed payments and interventions related to area-based payment schemes. These measures stem from the detailed analysis provided within the CLLD Strategy, which identifies the specific needs of the territory and outlines the necessity of financing such activities.
