Center of Competence “Quantum communication, intelligent security systems and risk management” (“Quasar“) comprises 9 partners – institutes of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS), universities and research non-governmental organisations:

6. Institute for Nuclear Researches and Nuclear Energy with BAS – Sofia
7. Faculty of Geology and Geography with Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” – Sofia
8. Association “Advanced Flight Technologies”
9. Association “Technology Transfer Office Quasar” (new partner)
The project falls in thematic area of ISSS 2021-2027 “Informatics and information and communication technologies”.
Research work of the Center of Competence is concentrated in 5 work packages:
1. WP 1: Quantum communications
2. WP 2: Intelligent security systems
3. WP 3: Risk management
4. WP 4: Innovative sensor technologies with multifunctional purpose
5. WP 5: Green technologies and adaptation to climate change (new WP)
The activities that will be carried out during the project duration till 2029 are the following:
1. Scientific research and dissemination of research results
2. Construction and/or modernization of research infrastructures and equipment necessary for conducting scientific research
3. Training and mobility of researchers
The project has great potential for generating research results, which can lead to innovations in cooperation with the industry.
