HOUP – 07 EOOD is a company based in the town of Banya, which operates in the hotel industry under main code 55.10 “Hotels and similar accommodation.” The company owns and operates the Tsarska Banya Hotel – SPA complex, located at the foot of the Stara Planina mountain. The facility offers high-class accommodation, therapeutic and wellness treatments with mineral water, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a restaurant, and a variety of spa services, operating year-round. Due to the nature of its activities—heating and cooling of premises, maintenance of swimming pools, spa facilities, and kitchen—the hotel's energy costs are significant and have a direct impact on the cost of services. Optimizing energy consumption and using renewable energy sources are strategic priorities for the company, aimed at sustainable development, reducing its carbon footprint, and increasing its competitiveness. The company already has a 60 kWp photovoltaic installation, which partially covers the hotel's energy needs. The implementation of this project will build on the existing capacity and expand the possibilities for using green energy, thus strengthening the energy independence and sustainability of the enterprise. The project plans to invest in a 55 kWp photovoltaic power plant (PVP) and a local energy storage system (battery) with a capacity of 215 kWh, intended for the hotel's own consumption. The photovoltaic system will be connected to the complex's internal power distribution network, and the electricity generated will be used to power the hotel's installations and facilities. The battery system will store the energy produced during hours of active sunshine and release it during periods of increased consumption or reduced solar activity, which will help to better manage and balance energy flows at the site.
