"Merdzhan" Ltd. conducts its main business activity under code 16.10 "Sawmilling, planing, and impregnation of wood," and the company also carries out an additional economic activity under code 55.10 "Hotels and similar accommodation." This supplementary activity is carried out through the management of the company’s own hotel "Merdzhan," located in the "Orlino" locality in the town of Sarnitsa. Within the framework of the project, the company plans to increase its energy efficiency and expand the use of renewable energy sources (RES) for its own needs in the hospitality sector by implementing the following investments in Hotel "Merdzhan": 1) CONSTRUCTION OF A PHOTOVOLTAIC POWER PLANT with a capacity of 50 kW, including solar panels, inverters, batteries, and all components necessary for the full operation of the plant – 1 set (in accordance with Section 16 "Photovoltaic Power Plants" of Annex 4.1 "List of Eligible Asset Categories in the Field of Energy Efficiency and Use of Renewable Energy Sources"); 2) DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION OF AN "AIR-TO-WATER" HEAT PUMP with a heating capacity of 30 kW – 1 unit (as per Section 2 "Heat Pumps" of Annex 4.1 "List of Eligible Asset Categories"). The implementation of these complementary energy-efficient solutions will contribute to the successful improvement of energy efficiency and the increased use of renewable energy sources in the company's dedicated hospitality operations, thereby accelerating a quality transition toward climate neutrality by measurably reducing the carbon footprint. This will optimize energy consumption and significantly increase the share of renewables in the company's energy mix. The planned investments fully comply with the horizontal principles outlined in Art. 9 of Regulation (EU) No 2021/1060, as well as with the "do no significant harm" principle regarding the environment and the achievement of climate resilience, supporting the enterprise’s ecological transition in its operations.
