The project proposal aims to implement energy efficiency measures for the mountain lodge “Srednogorets,” located in the Chemerikata area, just below Mount Malak Bogdan (1594 m above sea level), in the Sŭshtinska Sredna Gora range, at an elevation of 1486 meters. The lodge is situated within the municipality of Koprivshtitsa and serves as a key destination for hikers, nature enthusiasts, and organized groups visiting the region. The existing building lacks proper insulation, has outdated windows and doors, and suffers from significant energy losses, resulting in high heating costs and discomfort for guests during colder months. The proposed activities include installing external thermal insulation on the façade, insulating the roof structure, and replacing the current windows and exterior doors with new, energy-efficient alternatives. These measures aim to significantly reduce energy losses, improve indoor climate conditions, and extend the building’s operational lifespan. Additionally, the project will contribute to the sustainable development of mountain tourism in the area by creating a more comfortable and environmentally friendly space for visitors. The implementation of the project is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy by increasing tourist flow and promoting the lodge as a model for energy-efficient infrastructure in mountainous environments. Improved energy efficiency will also lead to reduced carbon emissions and more sustainable resource management.
