Rositsa JSC is a well-established Bulgarian manufacturer of high-quality knitted products – sweaters, cardigans, and other knitwear items, created both by machine and by hand knitting. The company has already taken steps towards sustainable development by installing a photovoltaic system with an installed capacity of 420 kW. The electricity generated from this renewable source is used directly in the production processes, which significantly reduces energy costs and the company’s carbon footprint. Nevertheless, an ongoing challenge for Rositsa JSC remains the optimal management and storage of the generated energy. During peak photovoltaic production, there are periods of surplus electricity that cannot be fully utilized, while in hours of low or zero production there is a risk of energy shortage. This creates the need for the implementation of a local energy storage system, which will enhance the company’s independence and security of energy supply. Under this project proposal, the company plans to purchase and install 4 local energy storage systems, each with a capacity of 50 kW, or a total of 200 kW. The batteries will enable the accumulation of generated but unused electricity, which can subsequently be consumed during periods of higher demand or reduced photovoltaic production. With this project, Rositsa JSC will take another key step towards sustainable development, green transformation, and energy independence.
