The implementation of the activities addresses CHOLIPAK Ltd.'s need for targeted investments in improving energy efficiency, which are key to the sustainable development of the enterprise. In this way, prerequisites are created for long-term cost reduction and achieving higher competitiveness. The main objective of the present project proposal is to improve energy efficiency and promote the use of renewable energy sources (RES), thereby accelerating the transition to climate neutrality through reducing the carbon footprint, optimizing energy consumption, and increasing the share of RES in the energy mix. The project proposal foresees the implementation of the following activity: • Improving energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources in enterprises. The activity will be implemented through investments in the construction of a photovoltaic power plant for own consumption with a capacity of 80 kW, combined with local energy storage facilities (batteries). This will ensure greater energy independence and a lasting reduction of the company’s energy intensity. CHOLIPAK Ltd. is part of the eligible target group under the procedure. The company is a small enterprise, carrying out its main activity under NACE code 17.21. Manufacture of corrugated paper and paperboard and of containers of paper and paperboard, which is characterized by high energy intensity. The expected results are that CHOLIPAK Ltd. will improve its energy efficiency, which will improve the company's competitiveness and reduce the carbon footprint of the company's economic activities. The proposal is fully compliant with the “do no significant harm” principle, contributing to the green transition and supporting the achievement of national and European climate and energy goals.
