"AS ENGINEERING" Ltd. is a mechanical engineering company specialized in the production of machinery for agriculture and forestry. The company is a successor of a mechanical engineering enterprise privatized during the mass privatization process. The production workshops are located in an old building with a total area of 2 decares (2,000 m²). The lighting in the workshop is currently provided by 144 sodium lamps with parabolic reflectors, each with a power rating of 250 W, totaling an installed capacity of 36,000 W. Due to the structure of the building and the need for proper illumination, these lights operate for most of the production time. Over time, the efficiency of the lighting has decreased, despite the consistent energy consumption, which, based on empirical calculations, is approximately 45 MWh annually. Furthermore, such low-efficiency fixtures are no longer available on the market, and the risk of compromised lighting in the workshop increases with each passing year. With this project, the company management plans a complete replacement of the outdated lighting system with an energy-efficient one. The plan includes the delivery and installation of a new type of lighting fixtures – 144 "high-bay projector-type" fixtures, each with a power consumption of 100 W. With the implementation of the investment, the existing 36,000 W lighting system will be replaced with an energy-efficient one of 14,400 W installed capacity. As a result, the electricity consumption for lighting is expected to decrease 2.5 times, leading to annual energy savings of 18 MWh, or between 4,000 and 5,000 BGN per year. Additionally, the quality of the working environment will significantly improve due to better lighting conditions.
