Description

The project of Himkomers Engineering Ltd. is aimed at improving the company’s energy efficiency and reducing its carbon footprint through the implementation of solutions for the use of renewable energy sources and sustainable energy management. The company is an established construction enterprise with over 30 years of experience in the design and execution of infrastructure projects in the field of water supply and sewerage systems. Himkomers Engineering Ltd. is a long-standing partner of numerous municipalities and private investors and a main contractor under public procurement contracts for the construction, reconstruction, and maintenance of water and sewerage infrastructure in small and medium-sized settlements in Northern Bulgaria.

Within the framework of the project, it is planned to build a photovoltaic power plant (PV system) for self-consumption, combined with an energy storage system using batteries, as well as the implementation of a high-efficiency heat pump system for heating and cooling the administrative premises. These measures are aimed at optimizing energy consumption, ensuring energy independence, and reducing harmful emissions. The investments will support the energy needs of the company’s logistics and operational base located in the city of Pleven.

The implementation of the investment will enable the applicant to use solar energy to meet its own energy needs, with part of the produced energy stored in the battery system and used during periods of higher consumption or low sunlight. The main goal of the project is to increase the share of renewable energy in the company’s overall energy balance and to achieve a long-term reduction in electricity costs while improving the energy resilience of Himkomers Engineering Ltd.

The project is fully in line with the objectives of procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004 and will contribute to the company’s green transition, enhancing its competitiveness and reducing its environmental impact.
