FLEXICON BG EOOD is a small enterprise with a main activity under KID2008 22.22 "Manufacture of plastic packaging", Sector C22 "Manufacture of rubber and plastic products". The company has its own production base in the city of Kardzhali, where it manufactures and markets flexible polypropylene containers (big bags) for bulk storage and transportation of a wide range of products. The activity is highly energy-intensive, as it includes processes of packaging, printing and cutting, operation of compressor systems and maintenance of an optimal microclimate in the production premises, which require constant electricity. In 2022, the company implemented a project for the installation of a photovoltaic power plant with a capacity of 35.6kW for its own consumption, which is already having a positive effect by reducing energy costs. However, significant potential remains for optimization and reduction of energy dependence. With this project, the company wishes to carry out the following activities: -Construction of a local energy storage facility (60kW batteries with inverters) for full utilization of the energy produced by the existing PV plant. The system will compensate for the discrepancy between the peak production of solar energy and the peak consumption of the production capacities, ensuring greater energy autonomy, reducing dependence on the electricity distribution network and optimizing energy costs. -Installation of 750 sq.m. of mineral wool thermal insulation panels on the roof of the production facility, which has a total area of 2327 sq.m. The measure will reduce heat loss, optimize electricity consumption and create a more sustainable and healthy microclimate for personnel and production. By implementing modern energy insulation systems and batteries for electricity storage, FLEXICON BG EOOD will improve its competitiveness and achieve sustainable development, in line with the principles of the green transition.
