Renewable energy sources are of key importance for achieving national and European goals for climate neutrality and energy independence. In this regard, the company plans to build and connect a local electricity storage facility to an existing photovoltaic power plant (PVPP) with an installed capacity of 192kW AC, located on the roof of a building with ID No. 502010 in the Industrial Zone of the village of Pokrovnik. The storage facility will provide an opportunity to accumulate the electricity produced by the PVPP from the electricity distribution network and its subsequent use in another, pre-set time range. This will allow for more effective management of consumption, limiting energy losses and optimizing electricity costs, without changing the agreed technical parameters of the site. The connected capacity of the PVPP is 173kW, and the planned capacity of the LSS is 100kW with a total capacity of 21 kWh. The facility will provide charge/discharge for at least 2 hours or ≤ 0.5C and will operate at a frequency of 50Hz, at a low voltage of 0.4kV, three-phase. The battery system will be located in a metal modular cabinet with dimensions, mounted on a concrete foundation. It will house the battery modules, converter, control system, cooling and fire protection. For the purposes of effective functioning and control, an integrated energy management system is provided, representing an intelligent controller with specialized software. It will collect, process, visualize and archive data in real time, thus ensuring monitoring and management of energy flows in the facility. By implementing the LSS, the company will increase its energy independence, reduce its carbon footprint and improve the management of electricity production and consumption from renewable sources. The project contributes to the sustainable development of the enterprise and meets the priorities for green transformation of the economy.
