The project of “Stearinos” Ltd. is aimed at improving the energy efficiency, reliability, and independence of its production processes through the installation of an energy storage system (battery units) combined with inverters. The system will be integrated with the already installed 60 kW photovoltaic installation, as well as with additional solar panels currently planned for construction, intended entirely for self-consumption. For the company, this represents the first implementation of a battery storage system, which will enable the efficient storage and management of solar-generated electricity. With the new equipment, “Stearinos” Ltd. will be able to store excess energy generated during daylight hours and use it during periods of lower generation or power supply interruptions. This is particularly important since the enterprise often experiences unstable electricity supply, especially during the night and winter months, leading to production downtime and losses. The planned investment will ensure greater operational security, optimal use of self-produced renewable energy, and reduced dependence on external energy suppliers. The project will also contribute to lowering carbon emissions, enhancing energy resilience, and improving the company’s competitiveness. Expected results: -Ensuring more reliable and uninterrupted power supply; -Full utilization of energy produced by the photovoltaic system; -Reduction of energy costs and peak loads on the power grid; -Lower carbon footprint and improved environmental performance; -Increased sustainability and efficiency of production processes. The project is fully aligned with the objectives of Procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004 “Energy Efficiency and Use of Energy from Renewable Sources in Enterprises” under the Programme “Competitiveness and Innovations in Enterprises” 2021–2027.
