"VOLAKOM" JSC is a high-tech company engaged in the design and implementation of advanced Bird Collision Avoidance Systems (BCAS) that detect and deter birds in real time — either fully automatically or manually operated — across diverse environments. The company’s solutions utilize thermal imaging cameras, acoustic deterrent devices, and intelligent detection software to keep aerial and ground zones clear, preventing bird strikes, contamination, and costly operational shutdowns. In recent years, the company has been actively working to reduce its carbon footprint by lowering its consumption of electricity from conventional sources. To this end, a photovoltaic power plant with a total installed capacity of 205 kW has been commissioned. The company's production equipment has a total installed capacity of 100 kW, with peak electricity consumption reaching around 80 kilowatt-hours. On favorable days with prolonged sunlight, the photovoltaic plant fully meets the company’s electricity needs. During the rest of the year, as well as during early morning and evening hours, the plant’s output drops significantly and is insufficient to cover energy demands. The current project involves the supply and commissioning of battery storage systems with inverters, with a combined capacity of 120 kW. This investment will allow for the storage of surplus energy and its use during periods when solar energy production is at its lowest. It will address the variability of photovoltaic power generation by enabling the storage of “excess” energy in batteries, which can then be used when needed — during times of low or no solar generation. This investment will enable the company to meet over 90% of its electricity consumption using solar energy.
