The project of “BOBAL-BOYADZHIEV” Ltd. envisages the implementation of energy efficiency measures in the company’s distribution and logistics base. The enterprise is an established trader with main activity under NACE code 46.38 – “Wholesale of other food, including fish, crustaceans and molluscs”, offering high-quality raw materials, ingredients, and solutions for the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. The company partners with international manufacturers and serves clients across the country through a well-developed distribution network and its own transport. The company’s operations are associated with significant electricity consumption due to the continuous operation of warehouse and transport systems, as well as the need to maintain optimal microclimate and lighting conditions. This leads to high energy costs and an increased carbon footprint. Within the project, it is planned to construct two photovoltaic power plants (PVPPs) with an installed capacity of 40 kW each, and to install two energy storage systems (batteries) with a capacity of 61.44 kWh each. This measure will enable the company to cover a large part of its own electricity needs through renewable energy generation and to use the stored energy efficiently during peak hours. The expected results include: • a significant reduction in energy costs and dependence on the electricity distribution grid; • increased energy efficiency and resilience of the logistics processes; • reduction of carbon emissions and contribution to the objectives of the green transition; • improved competitiveness through optimization of operational costs and the implementation of sustainable energy solutions. The project is in full compliance with the objectives of the BG16RFPR001-2.004 procedure “Energy Efficiency and Use of Renewable Energy in Enterprises” and with the DNSH principle – “Do No Significant Harm” to the environment.
