Description

The project of MIK-BG Ltd. envisages the implementation of a measure for the use of renewable energy sources and improvement of energy efficiency in the company’s production facility located in the city of Ruse. The main economic activity of the enterprise is classified under NACE 14.13 “Manufacture of other outerwear”.

The company’s operations are associated with continuous electricity consumption for powering sewing machines, lighting, ventilation, and climate control systems, which results in significant energy expenses. In order to reduce dependence on external suppliers and optimize operational costs, MIK-BG Ltd. has already installed a photovoltaic power plant (PV system) for self-consumption.

This project foresees an investment in energy storage batteries, which will allow for the efficient use of electricity generated by the PV system, including during periods without direct solar radiation. This will lead to fuller utilization of the produced renewable energy and a reduction in electricity drawn from the public grid.

The implementation of the project will contribute to increased energy independence, reduced carbon emissions, optimization of production costs, and improvement of the company’s environmental performance.

The investment fully complies with the “Do No Significant Harm” (DNSH) principle and aligns with the objectives of the procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004 “Energy Efficiency and Use of Renewable Energy Sources in Enterprises.”
The project will support the sustainable development and green transition of MIK-BG Ltd. as an energy-efficient and competitive manufacturer in the textile industry.
