“Express – M” EOOD develops an additional business activity under NACE code 55.10 – Hotels and similar accommodation, owning and managing Hotel “Daf Trans” in the village of Sveti Konstantin, Peshtera Municipality – a family hotel with 17 rooms, 25 beds, and a 50-seat restaurant. The facility offers year-round accommodation and restaurant services, and its operation is energy-intensive due to the continuous use of heating, cooling, lighting, and kitchen systems. The hospitality sector is among the most energy-consuming, with an average consumption of 200–350 kWh/m² per year. The main consumers include heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and hot water production. The hotel’s annual electricity consumption is significant, with over 70% of the demand occurring during daylight hours, when electricity prices are at their peak. The investment foresees the installation of a 20 kW photovoltaic power plant (PV system) and 40 kW battery storage. The expected annual production will cover a substantial share of the hotel’s electricity needs, while the batteries will ensure energy independence and supply stability. Expected effects: - Reduction of electricity costs; - Improvement of energy efficiency; - Reduction of CO₂ emissions; - Enhancement of the hotel’s image and competitiveness. The investment is financially, technically, and environmentally sustainable, featuring a long operational lifespan, minimal maintenance requirements, and potential for future expansion. The project contributes directly to the objectives of Procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004 “Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Use in Enterprises” – improving energy efficiency, increasing the share of renewable energy, reducing emissions, and enhancing the resilience of SMEs.
