The project of SONEL-V EOOD is aimed at improving energy efficiency and increasing the share of energy from renewable sources in the production base of the company, located in the village of Dobrich, Dimitrovgrad Municipality. The company carries out "Manufacture of other furniture" (KID 31.09) and specializes in the manufacture of furniture for children's rooms. Since 2009, it has been expanding production with a line for mattresses, bed linen and accessories under the "Sonel" trademark, which leads to an increase in energy costs. In order to achieve sustainable development and reduce the carbon footprint, the company plans to build a photovoltaic power plant with a battery system for energy storage - 55kW. The installation will provide a significant part of the necessary electricity for production processes and will allow optimal use of electricity produced from renewable sources, including outside peak operating hours. The construction of an energy storage system is a key element for optimizing the independent consumption of electricity produced from RES, as well as improving the energy independence and sustainability of the enterprise. The implementation of the project will lead to a reduction in electricity costs, reduction of energy consumption from the external grid, limitation of greenhouse gas emissions and improvement of the energy independence of the enterprise. The Program "Competitiveness and Innovation in Enterprises" 2021–2027, procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004, thereby accelerating the transition of the private sector to climate neutrality by reducing the carbon footprint, optimizing energy consumption and increasing renewable energy in the energy mix of enterprises. This investment will also contribute to achieving the overall cumulative energy savings target for the period 2021-2030, set out in the Integrated Energy and Climate Plan of the Republic of Bulgaria, as well as the implementation of the objectives of the Energy Union.
