"Mebeli Ivveks" Ltd. manufactures high-quality furniture. One of our strategic development goals is the comprehensive improvement of our production base's energy efficiency. This project focuses on securing a modern and effective external envelope for the building, which is critical for reducing operational costs and ensuring sustainable development. The production facility, where we conduct our core business, is built with brick masonry. The lack of an effective, modern insulation system is a source of significant energy loss. Poor insulation leads to heat loss during the cold months and excessive overheating during the summer. This low energy rating of the building directly results in increased heating and cooling costs, which affects the cost price of the products and reduces competitiveness. We strive to ensure a stable internal temperature in the premises, as this impacts both the comfort and work capacity of the personnel and the quality and storage of materials and finished furniture, which require a constant climate regime. We installed heat pump units to provide heating and cooling capabilities. The windows frames were also renewed. However, the lack of insulation makes their operation significantly inefficient. For this reason, it is imperative to install 865 sq. m of energy-efficient sandwich panels on the exterior walls of the production building in the most vulnerable areas – the north and south walls. The investment is expected to lead to a significant reduction in energy costs for heating and cooling (anticipated savings of over 35%), as sandwich panels offer excellent thermal insulation properties. A reduction in the carbon footprint of our activities will also be achieved, as lower energy consumption for climate control leads to a substantial decrease in the CO2 emissions we generate. The project is a strategic step toward long-term sustainability, ensuring efficient, stable, and more ecological operations.
