The project of “NIKAR 2” Ltd. envisages the implementation of an investment aimed at improving energy efficiency and promoting the use of energy from renewable sources at the company’s existing site, where its main economic activity is carried out under NACE code 46.38 – “Wholesale of other food, including fish, crustaceans and mollusks.” NIKAR 2 Ltd. was established in 1996 and has a long-standing business activity focused on the distribution of natural spices, food additives, and natural and healthy products. Within the framework of the project, it is planned to install a photovoltaic system for the generation of electricity from solar energy, combined with inverters and local energy storage facilities (batteries). The proposed measures fully comply with the eligible activities under the procedure and are aimed at reducing electricity consumption from the national grid, lowering energy costs, and increasing the enterprise’s energy independence. The investment is fully aligned with the “Do No Significant Harm” (DNSH) principle and will contribute to achieving sustainable, environmentally friendly, and climate-neutral production. The selected technologies are energy-efficient, compliant with modern environmental standards, and will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions resulting from the company’s operations. The expected results from the implementation of the project include: improvement of the enterprise’s energy efficiency; increase in the share of energy used from renewable sources; reduction of electricity costs; enhancement of the company’s sustainability and competitiveness on the market. The project will contribute to the achievement of national and European objectives related to decarbonization, energy independence, and the green transition, and is fully consistent with the horizontal principles under Article 9 of Regulation (EU) 2021/1060, as well as with the DNSH principle.
