The overall objective of this project is to improve energy efficiency at Orenda Group and increase the use of energy from renewable sources in the company by implementing an energy storage system. The specific objectives address individual parameters creating the prerequisites for the implementation of the main project goal: supplementing the company's photovoltaic power plant with an energy storage system (batteries) of 100 kW capacity; optimizing electricity consumption through better management of the own production and reducing consumption from the electricity distribution network; improving energy security and continuity of the production process; achieving energy cost savings; reducing carbon emissions by increasing the share of energy used from renewable sources in the company's overall energy balance; increasing sustainability in the company's management. The implementation of the project is aimed at satisfying our basic need to improve the energy efficiency of the production process by increasing the share of usable energy from renewable sources. The project includes one main activity related to the purchase of a 100 kW electric energy storage system. The solar energy storage system will allow the accumulation of excess energy and its use during peak hours or during power outages. This will increase the production independence from the electricity distribution network, as well as will lead to the continuity of the production process, and thus to its optimization. The operating costs of the enterprise will be reduced through lower electricity bills, which will also result in the optimization of the cost price of our products. We will substitute the use of a diesel generator during emergency shutdowns. The batteries will allow the utilization of energy from solar panels without emitting carbon and other emissions, which will contribute to a higher environmental value.
