“Trakia Komers – 90” JSC is an established company with a main business activity under NACE 2008 code 47.29. The company owns a large building stock, including commercial, warehouse, and office spaces, which require significant amounts of electricity for lighting, air conditioning, elevators, security systems, and maintenance. Electricity expenditure is among the largest cost items in the company’s budget and has a direct impact on profitability. The main challenges include high and unpredictable electricity prices, peak loads during business hours, and the need to reduce the company’s carbon footprint in line with European and national energy and climate policies. To address these challenges, the company plans to construct a 140 kW photovoltaic power plant (PV system) through the purchase of solar panels and inverters under Procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004 “Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Use in Enterprises.” The expected annual production will cover a significant share of the company’s electricity consumption and reduce dependency on the grid. The rationale for the selected capacity includes: Covering a substantial portion of total energy needs; Alignment with the daytime consumption profile; Lower unit cost per installed kWp in larger systems; Future expansion potential through the addition of battery storage. Expected effects include reduced electricity expenses, improved financial resilience, lower market dependency, and significant environmental benefits through CO₂ emission reduction and contribution to the European Green Deal. The project’s sustainability will be ensured across financial, technical, environmental, and social dimensions. The investment is fully aligned with the objectives of Procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004 – enhancing energy efficiency, increasing the share of renewable energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and strengthening the competitiveness of Bulgarian enterprises.
