“POLIKOMERS YG 82” Ltd. is a company with many years of experience in the field of freight road transport. The company operates from a transport facility located in the city of Veliko Tarnovo, which includes a specialized vehicle maintenance unit providing servicing, repair, and operational support for its fleet. In the context of a dynamic energy market and continuously rising electricity prices, one of the key challenges facing the company is the need to increase energy efficiency and reduce dependence on external energy sources. The combination of the relatively high energy intensity of processes related to fleet maintenance and operation, the increasing cost of electricity, and the reliance on external suppliers has a significant impact on the company’s cost structure, increases its carbon footprint, and limits opportunities for sustainable long-term development. To improve its energy profile and enhance the sustainability of its operations, the project proposal envisages the construction and commissioning of a photovoltaic power plant with an installed capacity of 40 kW, combined with a local energy storage system with a capacity of 40 kWh. The installation is designed to generate electricity for the company’s own consumption and meet the energy needs of its transport operations. The implementation of the investment will contribute to improved energy efficiency, increased energy independence, a reduced carbon footprint, and a strengthened business model for the company. The project is fully aligned with the objectives of procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004, which aims to accelerate the transition to climate neutrality and support enterprises in their decarbonisation efforts through the implementation of energy efficiency measures and the integration of renewable energy sources into business operations.
