The project of “Edelvais” Ltd. is aimed at improving energy efficiency and promoting the use of renewable energy sources in the Hotel “Gurko”, located in the old town of Veliko Tarnovo. The hotel is an established tourist facility offering accommodation and dining in a traditional Bulgarian restaurant, serving guests from Bulgaria and abroad throughout the year. The main objective of the project is to reduce the company’s energy costs and carbon footprint through the implementation of the following investment measures: Installation of a 20 kW photovoltaic system combined with battery energy storage, which will supply part of the electricity required for the hotel’s operation; Thermal insulation of external walls and replacement of windows with high-efficiency frames, aimed at reducing heat losses and improving the building’s energy performance; Installation of heat pump systems for heating and cooling, replacing outdated and energy-intensive equipment. The implementation of the project is expected to lead to a significant reduction in electricity consumption from the external grid and to the optimization of the thermal processes within the building. This will result in lower operating costs, improved indoor comfort, enhanced guest experience, and an extended lifespan of the building. The project is fully consistent with the objectives of procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004, which promotes energy efficiency, the use of renewable energy sources, and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. By implementing these measures, Hotel “Gurko” will become a modern, energy-independent, and environmentally responsible facility, contributing to the sustainable development of the tourism sector in Veliko Tarnovo through the adoption of innovative green technologies.
