Programme: Programme "Competitiveness and Innovation in Enterprises" 2021-2027

Planning region: All

Description

The project is aimed at improving the energy efficiency of Badestnost JSC and increasing the share of “green” energy used by replacing the existing gas heating system with a modern, high-efficiency air-to-water heat pump technology.

Within the project, three air-to-water heat pumps, each with a capacity of 100 kW, will be supplied and installed to replace ten obsolete radiant gas heaters. The new system features a seasonal coefficient of performance (SCOP) above 3.5-4, meaning that for every 1 kWh of electricity consumed, approximately 4 kWh of thermal energy will be generated. As a result of implementing the heat pump system, the annual energy consumption for heating in the covered production area will decrease by approximately 77%, replacing the current 107 MWh of natural gas with about 25 MWh of electricity.

This will lead to significant energy and cost savings, as well as a reduction of around 14 tons of CO₂ emissions per year. Since Badeshtnost JSC operates its own photovoltaic power plant, part of the electricity required for the heat pumps will be generated from renewable sources, further increasing the share of “green” energy and reducing the company’s carbon footprint.

The implementation of the project will result in higher energy efficiency of the heating system, optimized operating costs, and improved indoor climate in the production facilities. The initiative is part of the long-term strategy of Badestnost JSC for sustainable and resource-efficient production, representing a concrete step towards the company’s transition to more sustainable and climate-friendly operations.
