Softa Trade Ltd. is a micro-enterprise focused on the production of wood pellets. The company has established its own production facility, with a business model based on the principles of the circular economy – using residues from industrial wood processing to produce heating pellets. This reduces waste, lowers raw material costs and increases local added value in the Municipality of Krumovgrad. With this project, Softa Trade plans to build, within its production base, a 55 kW photovoltaic system for generating renewable energy for its own consumption, combined with local energy storage facilities (batteries). The chosen configuration will employ high-efficiency panels and modern inverters with monitoring and protection systems, ensuring reliable operation and optimal electricity generation to meet the company’s internal needs. The investment directly supports the energy independence and sustainability of wood-waste pellet production. During the implementation of the investment, the best available equipment for photovoltaic systems will be used, ensuring the project complies with the Technical Guidance on the application of the “do no significant harm” principle under the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility Regulation 2021/C58/01 (Technical Guidance 2021/C58/01), thereby contributing to the ecological transition of Softa Trade’s operations. The project enhances Softa Trade’s competitiveness by establishing a sustainable energy model and integrating renewable energy sources into an energy-intensive production activity, while also supporting the regional economy and employment through the development of pellet production based on local resource flows.
