"AVA-M" Ltd. - Sofia is a manufacturing enterprise with main activity under code C28.93 "Manufacture of machinery and equipment for food, beverage and tobacco processing". The company performs thermally intensive operations (welding, grinding) in a steel structure production hall with an area of 1,944 m² and a high height (~12 m). In the current configuration, radiant gas heating does not provide uniform coverage and cannot maintain the required temperatures throughout the hall, especially under partial loads and extreme external conditions. This leads to "cold zones", an unstable microclimate and increased specific energy consumption. In addition, during the summer months, high external temperatures and internal heat gains make it difficult to maintain normal working conditions. The project proposal is aimed at increasing energy efficiency and reducing emissions by implementing two highly efficient VRF/VRV heat pump systems of 67 kW each for year-round heating and cooling of the hall. The system will operate with supply and return temperatures tailored to the installation, and energy monitoring to track efficiency. The expected result is lower specific energy consumption, a more even microclimate throughout all seasons and limiting dependence on rising natural gas prices. The new systems will take on the main load for a significant part of the year. The project thematically falls into sector C28.93 of the NKID-2008 and directly serves the energy needs of production. Its implementation will lead to a reduction in energy intensity, lower operating costs, better working conditions (lower heat stress, even temperatures) and a reduction in local emissions and CO₂ due to higher energy efficiency. The investment is in line with the objectives of procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004 and the priorities of the European Union for green transformation and climate neutrality.
