The project proposal of KHM TEXTIL Ltd. envisages the implementation of measures to improve energy efficiency through the installation of a photovoltaic panels combined with inverters for the generation of electricity from renewable sources, intended to cover part of the company’s own energy needs. The company, with main activity code NACE 14.39 – “Manufacture of other knitted and crocheted apparel”, specializes in the production of high-quality knitwear. Established in 2011 in Pleven, Bulgaria, KHM TEXTIL Ltd. is a joint venture of Spanish and French manufacturers with over 30 years of experience in the textile industry. The company’s production facilities cover an area of 5,500 square meters, equipped with state-of-the-art industrial machinery and a production capacity of over 40,000 garments per month, increasing annually by approximately 30%. The enterprise performs all stages of the production process – knitting, cutting, sewing, finishing, and delivery. The implementation of the investment will enable optimal management and utilization of energy resources, increase energy independence, and reduce electricity costs. The installed photovoltaic system will contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions, mitigation of environmental impact, and transition towards a greener and more sustainable production model. The project reflects the strategic vision of KHM TEXTIL Ltd. for modernization, sustainability, and long-term competitiveness, through the adoption of innovative and energy-efficient technologies in the textile sector. The investment fully complies with the “Do No Significant Harm” (DNSH) principle and will contribute to achieving the goals of national and European policies for energy efficiency, greenhouse gas reduction, and sustainable economic growth.
