The project proposal is aimed at improving energy efficiency and increasing the use of renewable energy sources at ZTKI, both in the production processes related to the preparation of rubber compounds — necessary for the manufacture of products in the company's portfolio — during the mixing of rubber with other ingredients such as carbon black, mineral fillers, activators, and vulcanizing agents, and in maintaining optimal temperature conditions in the production hall, which are essential for the proper and precise execution of production processes. This will be achieved through the purchase of an energy-efficient chiller and the construction of PVPP and a roof structure. As a result of the planned investments, ZTKI will be able to manufacture products with higher and more consistent quality, while significantly reducing technological waste and electricity consumption. The company will also gain access to secure, sustainable, and economically affordable energy. The need for the planned project activities has been identified based on the selection of well-matched assets and, most importantly, the necessity to strengthen the sustainable competitiveness of ZTKI by: -Improving energy efficiency; -Accelerating ZTKI’s transition to climate neutrality through reduced carbon footprint and increased share of renewable energy in the company's energy mix; -Optimising energy consumption by reducing the use of resources, particularly electricity. The proposed assets will contribute directly to improving energy performance and are closely linked to the development and production of rubber-based products. The investment is key for ZTKI, with the planned activities expected to have a cumulative effect that will enable the company to produce and offer high-quality products at competitive prices, with reduced energy intensity and in full compliance with the horizontal principles under Article 9 of Regulation (EU) 2021/1060, including the Do No Significant Harm principle.
