The proposal of the Regional Veterinary Station Ruse – Laboratory for Testing of Food, Feed and Biological Materials aims to modernize lighting and to deploy a 55 kW photovoltaic power plant with battery storage in order to strengthen operational continuity, reduce electricity expenditure and improve the quality of the working environment. The investment replaces existing fittings with 4 high-bay LED luminaires of 80 W and 50 linear LED luminaires of 80 W and installs a rooftop PV system with inverters, batteries and monitoring, equipped with an export-limiting function when needed. All components comply with the minimum technical criteria regarding LED efficacy, product warranties, PV module efficiency and degradation, inverter performance, battery operating temperature and long-life, and corrosion-resistant mounting structures. The measures will enhance reliability of laboratory processes, safeguard samples and reagents, and ensure a measurable and lasting reduction of energy-related operating costs while contributing to lower indirect greenhouse-gas emissions.
