Description

The project proposal of STEFANOV Ltd. aims to improve the company’s energy efficiency and sustainability through the installation of a photovoltaic power plant (PVPP) for self-consumption,located on the roof structure of its warehouse and service base.
The company operates in freight road transport, and the base serves as the main site for vehicle repair, technical maintenance, and servicing of the fleet,as well as for storage and administrative activities.
The site covers an area of 12,850 sq.m and includes repair halls, warehouses, offices, and a parking area for freight vehicles. The operations are carried out year-round, mainly during daytime hours, with electricity used for compressors, pressure washers, air-conditioning systems, lighting, and machinery. The average monthly electricity consumption is about 4–5 MWh (48,000–60,000 kWh annually), representing a significant share of operating costs.

The project provides for the installation of a 60 kW (AC) photovoltaic system and a battery energy storage system with a capacity equal to or greater than that of the PVPP. The battery module will store the energy generated during the day for use during peak hours or power interruptions, ensuring continuous operation and stable energy supply.

The system will cover approximately 65–70% of the site’s total electricity consumption, with all generated energy used entirely for self-consumption. The investment is expected to achieve a 40–50% annual reduction in electricity costs and a decrease of about 30 tons of CO₂ emissions per year.

The implementation of the project will provide greater energy independence, lower operating costs, and support the sustainable development of the company. The project is fully consistent with the objectives of the procedure and the “Do No Significant Harm” principle, contributing to an increased share of renewable energy for self-consumption, reduced carbon footprint, and the sustainable growth of the transport sector and the regional economy.
