The main objective of the current project proposal is to improve energy efficiency and promote the use of energy from renewable sources (RES) in EMKOM BULGARIA Ltd. thereby accelerating the transition towards climate neutrality through reducing the carbon footprint, optimizing energy consumption, and increasing the share of RES in the company’s energy mix. The proposal envisages the implementation of the following energy-efficient measures: 1. Construction of a photovoltaic power plant for own consumption The activity will be implemented through the construction and commissioning of a photovoltaic powerplant for own consumption, according to group 16, consisting of solar panels, invertors and batteries, with an active inverter capacity of 80 kW, as the acquisition of the assets will lead to a lasting reduction in the company’s energy intensity. EMKOM BULGARIA Ltd. is part of the eligible target group under the procedure. The company is a small enterprise, carrying out its main activity under NACE code 16.22. Manufacture of assembled parquet panels, which is characterized by high energy intensity and is among the prioritized sectors under the current procedure. The expected results of the investment are that EMKOM BULGARIA Ltd. will improve its energy efficiency, expand the use of renewable energy sources for its own needs through the construction of a photovoltaic powerplant with integrated storage facilities, ensure reliable energy supply for its operations, reduce its carbon footprint, and strengthen both its competitiveness and long-term resilience. The proposal is fully compliant with the “do no significant harm” principle, contributing to the green transition and supporting the achievement of national and European climate and energy goals.
