"SREDETZ BG" LTD is an enterprise operating in the hotel and restaurant sector, managing the "Art Plaza" hotel - a city hotel located in the heart of Sofia. In the conditions of a dynamic energy market and continuously rising electricity prices, the main challenge facing the company is the high energy intensity of the managed facility and its dependence on external energy sources, which leads to significant operating costs, an increased carbon footprint and limited opportunities for sustainable development of the activity. In order to increase energy efficiency, reduce energy costs and sustainably manage the facility, the project envisages the implementation of two key measures: 1. Replacement of an outdated and energy-intensive 90 kW chiller with two new high-efficiency air-to-water heat pumps with a total capacity of 102 kW. The new equipment will ensure significantly higher energy efficiency of the heating and cooling system, reduce specific electricity consumption, and improve comfort conditions for guests and staff. 2. Construction of a photovoltaic power plant with an installed capacity of 35 kW, combined with a local energy storage system with a capacity of 35 kWh. This measure will enable the on-site generation and use of renewable energy, reduce electricity costs, and improve the facility’s energy autonomy and resilience. The implementation of the project will result in a substantial reduction in total energy consumption, a decrease in greenhouse gas emissions, and the optimization of operating costs, while simultaneously enhancing the sustainability and competitiveness of the company’s business model. The project is fully aligned with the objectives of procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004, which aims to accelerate the transition towards climate neutrality and support enterprises in the decarbonisation process through the implementation of energy efficiency measures and the integration of renewable energy sources into business operations.
