The project proposal of the INSTITUT PO METALOLEENE I LEIARSKI TEHNOLOGII Ltd is aimed at increasing the energy efficiency, sustainability, and competitiveness of the enterprise through the construction of a photovoltaic power plant (PVPP) for self-consumption with an installed capacity of 60 kWp. The system will include solar panels, inverters, batteries, and the necessary infrastructure, as well as a local energy storage system (ESS) with a capacity of 30.72 kWh, which will allow for efficient utilization and management of the generated energy, ensuring a balanced energy flow and stable power supply. INSTITUT PO METALOLEENE I LEIARSKI TEHNOLOGII Ltd is a company with extensive experience in the production of cast iron and steel parts, as well as in the manufacture of foundry materials and metal products. Its technological processes involve the use of energy-intensive equipment such as electric furnaces, molding and grinding machines, compressors, cranes, and ventilation systems, resulting in high and continuous electricity consumption. This creates a strong dependence on external energy suppliers and requires a long-term strategy to control energy costs and ensure sustainable development. By constructing its own 60 kWp PVPP, the institute will be able to cover a significant portion of its daily electricity demand through the production of green energy from a renewable source. The expected annual energy yield from the installation is approximately 70,000 – 75,000 kWh, which will lead to a substantial reduction in electricity costs, lower carbon emissions, and optimize the energy efficiency of production processes. The integrated energy storage system with a capacity of 30.72 kWh will enable the accumulation of excess energy generated during peak sunlight hours and its utilization during periods of increased load or reduced production, ensuring a higher degree of energy autonomy and stability in the production process.
