The project of ET “Raya Koeva–Valkova” aims to improve energy efficiency and increase the use of renewable energy sources in the company’s facility – Hotel “Chichin”, located in Bansko, one of Bulgaria’s leading mountain and tourism destinations. The hotel was constructed in stages during the period 2004 – 2012 and currently operates year-round, offering accommodation, dining, and tourist services for both Bulgarian and international guests. The building has a mixed structure and significant potential for improving its energy performance, as some of the envelope elements and installations do not meet modern energy efficiency standards. The main objective of the project is to reduce energy consumption and operational costs, enhance energy independence, and lower the carbon footprint of the enterprise through the implementation of an integrated set of energy measures. The planned investment activities include: Installation of a biomass boiler, providing efficient and environmentally friendly heating for the building; Thermal insulation of external walls, roof, and floor, reducing heat losses and improving thermal comfort; Replacement of existing windows with new, high-performance ones that meet current energy standards; Construction of a photovoltaic power plant with a battery storage system, which will supply part of the electricity needs of the hotel and reduce dependence on the external power grid. The implementation of the project will result in a significant reduction in energy consumption and heating costs, as well as a decrease in greenhouse gas (CO₂) emissions. The project is fully consistent with the objectives of procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004 “Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Use in Enterprises”, aimed at promoting energy efficiency, encouraging the use of renewable energy sources, and supporting the sustainable green transition of Bulgarian enterprises.
